To verify that it is you, you are required to scan your face with your phone camera. The app will load and process your image. If you are unable to scan your face, you can use the route to activate your digital ID.
You are also required to scan four of your fingers in the self-activation process. You can choose either hand and record the hand with your phone camera to scan. If you are unable to scan your face, you can use the route to activate your digital ID.
Your digital ID is now active and ready for use!
Go to your nearest Huduma Centre and ask for assisted activation for your Digital ID. If visiting the Nairobi Head Office, make sure to book an appointment forehand. Make sure to carry your National ID card to facilitate the process.
The Huduma officials will scan your ID for identification and send a request to your eCitizen app to scan the QR code that shows up.
The Huduma official will scan your fingerprints using their official devices to verify your identity.
You will choose either your phone number or email address adn receive an OTP verification before your digital ID is activated.
Your digital ID is now active and ready for use!
Anyone who is a Kenyan citizen, resident or foreigner can access the eCitizen platform by simply registering for an account.
Having an eCitizen account allows Kenyan citizens access to all government services, while Foreigners/Residents users have access to some government services conveniently through one click of signing in.
The eCitizen Wallet allows users to make electronic transactions, such as bill payments and mobile recharges. It can also be used to transfer money from one account/platform to another, providing a convenient and secure alternative to physical wallets.
